BBC Essex will once again return to present Radio Airshow during the two days of this summer’s Clacton Airshow.
Staged by Tendring District Council (TDC) the Clacton Airshow – taking place on 24-25 August this year and celebrating its 30th anniversary – is one of the biggest events in the East of England.
Radio Airshow plays across the event site, bringing specialist commentary on the flight displays and updates on the event, as well as broadcasting on the airwaves; providing useful information for those travelling to the Airshow, as well as commentary for flight fans listening along both in Clacton and further afield.
Ian Wyatt, Radio Airshow producer for BBC Essex, said: “We are delighted to be media partner for the Clacton Airshow once again this year. Broadcasting from Clacton, and providing Radio Airshow for the crowds along the seafront, is a real highlight of our summer.
“This year will be extra special being the 30th Airshow, with some members of our team involved for most of those years. Our radio and digital coverage of the build-up and at the event will mean you won’t miss a thing!”
Mike Carran, TDC Assistant Director for Economic Growth and Leisure and Clacton Airshow Director, added: “Radio Airshow is a staple part of the event, providing fascinating insight and commentary as well as lots of really useful information.
“We’re delighted to have BBC Essex back this year to run Radio Airshow, and cannot wait to start planning programming with them.”
An exciting flight programme is being developed by the Clacton Airshow team, with details revealed closer to the event.
